2014-11: How Are We Doing?
We've been working with others and successfully gotten resolutions passed in the City and Town of Ithaca, and Tompkins County, calling for an amendment to the US Constitution ending Corporate Personhood and explicitly recognizing that money is not speech. The towns of Danby, Caroline, and Lansing have done the same. See here for the latest.
Don't trust government? Don't trust big business? They are one and the same today! We welcome everyone, no matter what your political stripes, to come to our next meeting to find out about our work and contribute your talents. Refuse to play along with the Divide and Conquer games the bought politicians and giant media companies tempt us with. Instead come work together with us. Thanks.
2014-10: Vote (for candidates that endorse our goals)
Election day is Nov 4th! Martha Roberstson, candidate for Congress in NY's 23 district, has endorsed Move to Amend. We've spoken with fellow candidate Tom Reed about doing so too, but he refuses. We continue to work to get him to reconsider. Please join us, candidate Reed! This is a non-partisan issue affecting all of us who don't have a lot of money to buy influence with and/or don't have a corporate charter to hide behind - exactly what inspired the original (Boston) Tea Party! Everyone wants their government back.
